How to Plan a Wedding on a Boat!

Whether you are planning your ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, cocktail hour, or even just a noteworthy photo opportunity, our boats are the perfect wedding venues for your wedding weekend! Want to know the best part? It’s so easy!
We know wedding planning can be stressful, that’s why when you work with one of our four fantastic wedding planners, it’ll be a breeze! Follow our four simple steps to planning a wedding (or wedding-related event) on one of our boats!
STEP ONE: Pick out your preferred date and boat!
We have eight different vintage boats, each with their own look and traits! Our smallest boat, the Lorelei, can hold up to 14 guests. She is perfect for an intimate cocktail hour with your partner or shuttle to/from your wedding venue. While our largest boat, the Lady of the Lake, can hold up to 225 guests. She is the ideal boat for ceremonies, receptions, welcome-to-the-wedding party, and even rehearsal dinners. Once you have determined which boat is your favorite, and which date works best for your event, one of our four amazing event/wedding planners here at Lake Geneva Cruise Line will then send you a contract!
STEP TWO: Fill out the “Build Your Party” worksheet
Once you’ve signed your contract, you will then fill out the “Build Your Party” worksheet. This is a digital form you will use to pick your preferred caterer, your bar package, boat layout, and input the vendors you are using for your big day. This may include your florist, your wedding photographer, your DJ/Band, and even your wedding inspiration and decoration plans! Inputting as much information as you can into this worksheet will ensure that your event will run as smoothly as possible. Your event planner will look over your form and update your event information accordingly. Then, we move on to the next step!
STEP THREE: Set up a phone call with your Lake Geneva Cruise Line wedding planner
After you sign and submit your “Build Your Party” form, your wedding planner will set up one or two phone appointments. One sixty days prior to your event, another 30 days prior to your event. In these phone calls, we will go over everything you have submitted and let you know all the details on our end. We also will order your food if you picked one of our four preferred caterers, contact all your vendors, if any, to let them know their set-up details, get your bar ready, and make sure all decorations will be ready to go for your big day. Here at Lake Geneva Cruise Line, we like to have all details finalized after that 30-day phone appointment. That way, you don’t have to worry about anything, and you just have to show up!
STEP FOUR: Show up and have fun!
After your 30-day phone appointment, you just have to show up to your pickup location at your selected time, and voilà! Enjoy the beautiful blue waters of Lake Geneva as you cruise with your favorite people. We promise you, your guests will be amazed at how unique our venues are – you will never hear the end of it!
