A Pictorial Guide of the Historic Lakefront Homes

Discover Lake Geneva Begin your journey around Historic Geneva Lake at Library Park in Downtown Lake Geneva, enjoy the beautiful homes that line today's shoreline along with visions of the past.

This book captures the beauty of today's homes along with the rich history of the grand estates of years gone by. Such names as Wrigley, Crane, Maytag, Harris and Wacker along with many other historic Chicago names will come to life as you relive the past through the wonderfully narrated pictorial history in this book.

Each of the homes pictured in the book is highlighted on a mini-map and identified by pier number for easy reference. Whether you're joining us for a cruise, piloting your own boat, hiking the shore path or just like the photos and the condensed history of Lake Geneva, there should be something in this book for you.

A Historical Reflection of a Bygone Era

Newport of the West
Many of the older homes on the lake as well as many others that no longer exist are described and pictured in a pictorial narrative book entitled "Lake Geneva: Newport of the West." This book, which published in 1976, contains many interesting black and white photographs of the large estates, while the narration gives you a feel for the lifestyles of the wealthy families that started this area many years ago. All proceeds from this hardcover keepsake book go to the Lake Geneva Historical Society.
